Maryland Real Estate Market Update!
The Real Truth About The Annapolis/Anne Arundel County  Real Estate Market.
  • The sky is not falling and it is not all gloom and doom!
  • One of the reasons for the foreclosures and short sales is people bought homes with low starting interest rates that would adjust in two or three years, hoping the real estate market would continue to rise and they would refinance with the built up equity in the home.  The market did not continue to go up, instead it went down and the interest rates on these loans went up.  They bet on the come and lost.
  • Another reason for the foreclosures is people cashed out with home equity loans to buy cars, boats, vacation homes, credit card debt, etc. and the value of their homes went down, leaving them with no equity in the home. 
  • The third reason was loss of job, bad health, divorce, etc. 
  • It is a buyers market and the buyer is in control of the transaction.
  • There are buyers in the Anne Arundel home marketplace.
  • There is a wide choice of homes available in all price ranges.
  • The buyers are comparing the homes and trying to get the best possible deal.
  • Most buyers are asking for closing cost help.
  • Sellers homes must be the best price, the best location and in the best condition in the neighborhood.  If not the price must reflect the improvements to be made.
  • Sellers that are making deals with the buyers are trying to negotiate the money difference on the home they are buying.  
  • There is mortgage money available for all price ranges.
  • There is FHA (Federal Housing Administration) money available.
  • There is VA (Veterans Administration) money available.
  • Now is the best time to buy!  Act before the market starts to come back, the new administration comes in, the new congress is seated and the home prices rise.

For those homeowners who are readjusting their lives to live within their means this is the perfect time to make that move.  Sell your big house, pay off your credit cards and other debt, buy a smaller house and live with lower expenses.  This is your time to buy!
