Annapolis Maryland History

History abounds in the colonial city of Annapolis. The Maryland State House, oldest capitol in the country still in legislative use, includes the restored old Senate Chamber where the Continental Congress met when Annapolis was, for a short time, Capital of the United States. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson often enjoyed the pleasure of Annapolis, a cultural center for the American colonies over 200 years ago.
