Connected by to Pasadena by Maryland Route 177, Gibson Island, MD is often considered part of Pasadena and lies off the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Founded in the early 1900’s, the gated community of Gibson Island, with a population of just over 200, offers a unique and colorful history along with year-round living and recreating for families and residents.  The island is made up of the Gibson Island Corporation which owns most of the land.

Take in a round of golf at the 9-hole “Gibson Island Course” at The Gibson Island Club with spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay. Club members can also enjoy the tennis courts, beach access, and children’s activities in the summer.
