Located north of Annapolis, Pasadena, MD is an unincorporated area of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.  With a population hovering around 12,500, the metropolitan area around Pasadena was ranked No. 2 by Best Places for telecommuting and No. 3 in ‘most energetic’. Many of the people living in Pasadena commute to work each day in the surrounding towns of Glen Burnie, Severna Park and Baltimore, MD. Connected by to Pasadena by Maryland Route 177, Gibson Island, MD is often considered part of Pasadena and lies off the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Founded in the early 1900’s, the gated community of Gibson Island, with a population of just over 200, offers a unique and colorful history along with year-round living and recreating for families and residents.  The island is made up of the Gibson Island Corporation which owns most of the land.

Located near the Severn and Magothy Rivers, boating and fishing are the predominant sports and pastimes in Pasadena. Many of the marinas and creeks are within walking distance since they are situated close to neighborhoods.

Down’s Park has more than five miles of paved and nature trails along with a playground and ball parks.

Take in a round of golf at the 9-hole “Gibson Island Course” at The Gibson Island Club with spectacular views of the Chesapeake Bay. Club members can also enjoy the tennis courts, beach access, and children’s activities in the summer.
