Millersville and Crownsville Real Estate

Millersville and Crownsville, Maryland, are charming and historic Chesapeake Bay communities about five miles from one another in the lush, green rolling hills of Anne Arundel County, a region known locally as the "land of pleasant living."

Shopping and Dining

Residents of this region have a legitimate claim to the “Best of Both Worlds” model, meaning that it offers the conveniences and attractions of having major metropolitan areas nearby, while also enjoying a rural, small town atmosphere.

The reason for this is simple: Millersville and Crownsville have a combined population of a little more than 20,000; however, they are also only about 15 minutes from downtown Annapolis, 25 minutes from the urban hub of Baltimore, and, if that’s not enough for you, only about 40 minutes from the Nation’s Capitol, Washington D.C.

Now, when you put that information into the context of shopping and dining options and opportunities, you would have to possess Stephen Hawking-like mathematical abilities to figure out just exactly how many there are here.

Of course, you don’t have to venture into those urban concrete jungles to enjoy a wide variety of shopping and dining alternatives. There are plenty from which to choose right in Anne Arundel County. Many of the area’s neighborhoods offer quaint and unique shopping centers with small, locally owned restaurants.

One-stop shopping and dining can be found nearby at the massive Westfield Annapolis mall. Among its 238 stores are JCPenney, the Apple Store and GameStop. You’ll have fast food choices along with fine and family dining option like Applebee’s, McCormick & Schmick Seafood Restaurant, and Punk’s Backyard Grill.

Parks and Recreation

If you didn’t already know, or haven’t yet figured it out from reading this article, Anne Arundel County has been blessed with some of Mother Nature’s most picturesque features. It enjoys more than 534 miles of Chesapeake Bay coastline, more than 70 county parks, the 13-mile Baltimore and Annapolis Trail and a considerable amount of nature reserves.

With all of these green areas and scenic waterways, Anne Arundel County is a mecca for fishing, boating, sailing and several other aquatic activities. Along with a number of gorgeous and challenging golf courses, the county’s parks and natural areas are excellent for walkers, bikers and runners.

Historically significant sites include the World War II Monument and Scenic Overlook, which honors Marylanders who died in World War II; and the Hartge Nautical Museum, which collects and preserves relics and records of the tools, drawings, books, maps, charts, and stories about the people and boats of the West River and Chesapeake Bay, dating back to 1832.
