Arnold, Maryland is a family oriented community of about 24,000 people located on the Broadneck Peninsula between the scenic Severn and Magothy Rivers. Arnold was named for the homesteader, John Arnold, a veteran of the war of 1812, who first claimed 300 acres of real estate on the north side of the Severn River. From Arnold, Maryland, it is an easy commute to Annapolis, (9 miles), Washington, D.C., (36 miles) and Baltimore (20 miles).

The Public school system in Arnold includes five elementary schools, (one a National Blue Ribbon school), two middle schools, one high school and the award winning 230 acre campus of Anne Arundel Community College. In addition, parents have an array of outstanding private schools from which to choose, including Christian, Jewish and nonsectarian options for students of various ages.

The Arnold, Maryland area features fun and recreation with many marinas, boat ramps and beaches for all types of water activities. There are also many parks and playgrounds suitable for athletic activities from tots to seniors. Some favorite activities of locals is walking, jogging or riding bicycles on the 13 mile Baltimore-Annapolis Bike Trail between Annapolis and Glen Burnie, Maryland.

This magnificent State Park is a recreational paradise with beaches and picnic areas that provide unparalleled views of the Chesapeake Bay and a host of summer and winter activities. The main marina offers 22 launching ramps for boats and personal water craft. There is also a small craft launch area for kayak, catamaran and hobby cats. Visitors to Sandy Point also enjoy wildlife viewing and bird watching. The Broadneck Peninsula is a great place to live, work and play.
