Every year at this time Annapolis, Marland becomes alive with the graduation of about 1,000 midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy.  During graduation week the streets are crowded with parents, friends and relatives of the graduates, here to participate in the week long event. Parades, fireworks, dances, the climbing of Herndon Mounument by the new plebes, the Blue Angels flying down the Severn River performing maneuvers that are awesome and finally on Friday, May 22 the entire Brigade marchs to the Navy-Marine stadium for the Graduation of the Class of 2009. The traditional throwing of their hats in the air signals there final farewell to the Academy.

We are proud everyday to live and share this small historical town of Annapolis with the U.S. Naval Academy and their midshipman. However, during commissioning week, we see first hand the newly commissioned men and women officiers, who have finished their training and are ready to go around the world, to defend our country, our liberties, our happiness, our families and our Constitution.  They make us proud and we want to say "Thank You For A Job Well Done."
