Once you cross the Severn River Bridge heading east on Route 50 toward the Chesapeake Bay Bridge you will find the Broadneck - St. Margaret's - area of Annapolis, Maryland.  Although only 10 minutes to Annapolis this area has a more rural feel with trees, open spaces, farmland and waterfront properties.  Cape St. Claire is the largest community on Broadneck with lots of amenities for everyone.  A large sandy beach, several launching ramps, piers for your boats, playgrounds, athletic fields for all of the organized sports teams, community clubhouse, churches and a local shopping center with one of everything. Most of the shops are operated by the owners.  Home prices range from $300,000 for a single family split foyer to luxury waterfront properties in the millions and everything in between. Several of the other home communities include Chesapeake Preserve, Podickory Point, Beacon View and Revell Downs.   St. Margaret's area was at one time all farmland and the homes in this area are mostly on large pieces of land and are still surrounded by farmland.  The homes range from $400,000 to waterfront estates in the upper brackets with lovely communities like Amberly, St. Margarets Farm, Old Mill Bottom Estates, Martins Cove Farm and Pendennis Mount.  There are several townhome communities on Broadnedk including Woods Landing, Whispering Woods and Walnut Ridge 

Chesapeake Bay Bridge

At the lower end of the Broadneck Peninsula is the 4.3 mile Chesapeake Bay Bridge. This dual span bridge connects the Eastern Shore and Western Shore of Maryland. While there stop and visit  the 786 acre Sandy Point State Park. This magnificent State Park is a recreational paradise with beaches and picnic areas that provide unparalleled views of the Chesapeake Bay and a host of summer and winter activities. The main marina offers 22 boat launching ramps for boats and personal water craft. There is also a small craft launch area for kayak, catamaran and hobby cats. Visitors to Sandy Point also enjoy wildlife viewing and bird watching. The Broadneck Peninsula is a great place to live, work and play.
